third brake light

2016 Anthem, getting ready to replace the 3rd center brake light and thought I'd check here for removal procedure. I was guessing it was heald on with 3m tape, but just didn't feel comfortable prying before asking. Any suppliers other than factory?

Third Brakelight Replacement

WOW!!! What timing.
I just completed this project yesterday on my 2016 Anthem.
Got the new light from Entegra parts. Price close to others $68.66 delivered.

1. Access the back of the light inside the rear closet and cut off the two plastic screws on each end as well as cleaning the silicone holding them in.
2. Cut the wiring and tie it off so you don't lose it down inside the rear shell. You will need it for connecting the new light.
3.Outside, carefully pry the old light out and clean any old silicone from the area. You will need to cut off the spacers (black prongs) on the back of the new light) so that it will lay flat when pressed into the silicone back side.
4. Put a good bead of silicone on the mounting area and fill in two two old screw holes to prevent leakage. Feed the wire for the new light into the hole of the old wire.
5. Press the new light into the silicone bead and hold in place by using small wedges or some other form (tape).
6. Back inside connect the old wire to the new with butt connectors and put a dab of silicone in the hole where the wire comes through.

Good Luck.
