Tips for replacing key fob batteries

Looks like batteries died in one of our key fobs. Checking to see if there are tips know it’s probably not as simple as replacing batteries….

Don't know about the newer models but on the classics it's just take out the old put in the new.
Later...

On the newer ones the same. You did not have listed your coach. Do you have push button start? If you do and remote still works the door but will not start the coach then problem is the Trimark. Need to call Spartan and get a new one.

The batteries don't last long. I keep a 4 pack from Harbor Freight of both size of button batteries onboard. They are easy to change, just remove the back.

thanks all did replace with no issues. I just remembered a past post on someone who had issues so wanted to avoid. For once it was as simple as replacing batteries and all worked! chuck we will keep extras, we had dropped coach to have a wheel hub leaked fixed and driver couldn't start coach luckily we had the extra keys.

I keep my spare keys in the toad. My coach fob died as I leave mine in the cup holder 24/7 which is "suppose" to shorten the life of the battery.
Got the spare set of keys in the toad, it was dead as well.. I think that eliminated the battery dying quicker if left next to the ignition. The set in the toad was never near the ignition and they were both dead at the same time. Thankfully a spare card of button batteries were on board. I also keep the size for the awning remote.

I try to replace the fob batteries in all our vehicles every year, because one time we were on the Harley and it wouldn’t start. Luckily I had an extra coin cell in the “trunk”. We also use the Battery Daddy carrier for spare batteries of every size. When home we bring it in the house. When on the road we take it with us. It’s proven pretty useful, and easy to see when you need more of a certain type.
