Tire pressures

On the info tag, behind the drivers seat it states the Max GVW and TP's. I know there are many variables, but does this sound normal?
recommended TP's:

front 125
drive 95
tag 110

thanks

You need to get your coach weigh at each wheel, I got my done at Spartan and found I was over inflaming my tires. The coach now rides better and handles better

Yes, it sounds normal but its probably going to be a rough ride. As Surmotor stated, its best to get your corner weights so that you know what is "just right" for your particular rig.

The posted pressure is for a max loaded coach. Most coaches, after being weighed will take less air pressure. My Anthem is 125 fronts, 80 in all rears, but I run 85 to allow for DW shopping on each trip. My model happens to be heavy on the front axle.

You can also do axle weights very easily at many truck stops until you can get corner weights. Then you can use the Goodyear or Michelin charts whichever is appropriate. Look for the yellow CAT scale sign at truck stops and be sure to get axles on different sections.

Mine is 115 fronts and 85 for drive and tag. This is according to the tire charts for the weights (got each tire(s) weighed) It depends on how much stuff you have to drag around with you.

Keep in mind that by reducing the recommended air pressure you also reduce your cargo carrying capacity. It is specially dangerous to reduce the air pressure in the front/steer axle.

Steer---105
All the rest---85

As per wheel weight and Michelin inflation chart. Rides and handles great.

If you use the pressures on the plaque, you are in for a very uncomfortable and bumpy ride..... The rears are too much pressure.

You have gotten 5 or 6 recommendations that are all virtually the same, and mine are the same also. 85 on the drives and until recently 80 on the tags, but noticed so tag-tire-heating that seemed unnecessary and I added 5 pounds. Still get more heating than on my drive tires, but guess that may be just the way it is.

If you over-pressure your drive and tag, you and tilting the coach slightly forward toward the steer and putting additional weight on the steers. This is why 4 corner weights are so important.

I run what's on the tag for now (also 125/95/110), I'll be att ending Spartan in October so will have better idea after getting four corner weights.

Hopefully, by then I will also have Michelins on the drive axle at least. I'm also hoping I can get them to adjust the tag and shift some weight from the drive to the steer, I'm well under on the drive and close to max on the steer. Has anyone done this?

In addition to the above comments it is the case that Spartan recommends a mimimum of 85 even though actual weights (as in my case) may dictate a lower psi would suffice. We run 125 as determined by coach weight on fronts and 85 everywhere else.

Same for us. 4 corner weights were below the weights on the chart for Drive and tag. NIRVC and others said 85 for a minimum.

Gary this is normal as the tags are not exposed to the direct air and carry a little more than the duals per tire. I run tags and drives at 85. Spartan says 85 is what they recommend on underweight situations. I used to run at 92. I did a 4 corner weight with tags at 85 and 95. It made no diff to the front end weight as I was curious so I ran them down to 85. On average my tags run 20-25 degrees hotter than ambient and drives are 15 degrees warmer. Fronts are usually 25-30 degrees warmer than ambient
