Tire Replacement Brands and Costs

Getting ready to replace our 2018 Anthem Tires…

Just got a quote of $1400 per tire for Michelins NOT including mounting. He says none of his suppliers can get Michelins and he would have to buy from Spartan. Our local Svcs shop didn’t know anything about accepting FMCA discount.

Our local service Ctr recommended Toyo or Hankook Tires … thoughts on quality of these?

Suggestions for a place to buy (online) tires and have shipped to our local service Ctr? Or any other suggestions…

Thank you for all your help,
Daphne and Steve

Many owners with older Entegra coaches have bought Toyos and have found them to be a good quality tire. Not sure if they market a tire bigger than the 219s. Think they offer 315s. Don't even think of buying any Goodyear tires.

Be sure and look at FMCA's tire discount program. They offer Michelins at a price that some Michelin dealers say they can't even buy the tires wholesale. Supply-line could be a problem.

Been a long time since I needed to buy tires, but I would likely try to replace with Michelins again and the task would be trying to find them at the best price.

I went through the FMCA process a few months ago but waited to put a few more miles and time on my original tires dated 10/2017. I've got all the paperwork at home, but it does take some time and making a few phone calls to get it done. I'm hoping to finish the process and get the tires changed next month. I can't remember the price but well under $1000, they even offered a discount, $30 or $50 per tire, if they were in good shape, which they are. Since things may have changed since then I'll be watching this thread closely.

Toyo's have been highly rated and Continental is another good tire. One of the forum members installed those through the FMCA program and is really pleased with them. A long time trucker friend, that was a member of the Million Mile Club, ran Continentals on his trucks and swore buy them. I ran them on my Corvettes for years and thought the handling was great. I would use either brand before paying that price for Michelin. For that price, I am not that brand loyal.

I've had Toyo and Sumitomo tires. Both offer a comparable ride to Michelin at a significant discount. They will age out before they wear out.

Do we get the paperwork off FMCA website? Can you buy and have shipped to any location for installation?

Thanks!

What is wrong with Goodyear tires in the 19.5 size? I am showing my ignorance but trying to learn.

I paid $3200 for 6 Toyo 295/80-22.5 a year ago. So I was curious about the inflation situation and checked the price went from $420 a tire to $530 this year. Where will it go from here is anybodies guess.

Possible to change all tires on Anthem to 315 size?

One other question… is it possible to change to all tires to 315s with our current wheels and no danger of rubbing on 2018 Entegra Anthem?

Original equipment tires 315’s Front, 295’s duals and tag

Just a thought when we go to purchase and install our new set of tires.

As Always we appreciate everyone’s help,

Daphne and Steve

The info is on the FMCA website. You have to search to find a Michelin dealer that works with the FMCA if memory serves. Michelin will ship to that location. Dismount, mount, balance, etc. are all costs controlled by the dealer.

I hope the factory picked those tire sized for a reason. I would stay with the same sizes as original equipped.

Given that choice I'd go with Toyo.
