In my limited experience you may discover there is a max speed (ie 65 MPH) that must also be observed.

Our Flex had the start and run limits similar to what you described, and a max speed limit.

The Jeep and F-150s have zero limits or run requirements.

Tow Vehicle

Well.......F150 must be 4x4 and new enough to have the electronic tow mode enabled. Can not tow before 2012 model.

We tow a "14 Ford Edge Limited with push button start so they should be basically the same. After running the engine for 5 minutes I have to shift the trans into D then R and then into N. Push button to stop engine and ready to tow. The electronics will go into sleep mode after about 10 minutes. But remember to turn off radio and lights and put climate control in recirculate before turning ac off. And as Matt said speeds under 65 mph.

We have flat towed our 2013 explorer limited. Yes your correct but I run ours at least 15min. To be safe. A couple other mentions is it has to be the V6. The 4-cylinder EcoBoost cannot be towed. Every 250 Mi it needs to be restarted and run for x minutes. You may also want to run a 12-volt charge wire from the 8 way plug to the battery to maintain the battery. With the accessory switch on our car has a large 12 volt load and will need that trickle charge from your coach battery to maintain it. Happy trails...

The Remco Towing site has a nice vehicle selector that provides relevant towing details for specific models/options.

I do not know if it's the same guts but we tow a 2018 Ford Explorer Sport 4WD v6 EcoBoost. We have the same procedure others have described. We run the engine approximately every six hours to lube the transmission. THe process for hookup/break-down is super easy. Due to how ours is hooked up, we have one additional step to disconnecting the battery, in that, we have to pull a fuse for the 4WD system. That takes approximately 15 secs.

Been about 8000 miles now and it's still working like a champ! It's a great combination. =)
