Tow vehicle light plug

I had a rattle in the plug that goes into the RV side so I opened it up and found this inside. Can’t see where it goes. Any thoughts?

Just a guess, but I also don't see any place for it to go.

Is there a center pin that has no connection and just a hole now?

Dont see how someone could "accidentally" leave it in there but it sure would be capable of a rattle (and seemingly blowing a lot of fuses), but then, people are capable of amazing things....

My vote would also be for the center pin.

Center pin is for backup lights which you probably don’t need for a toad.

here is picture of where that center pin may be missing. Looking at some other pictures on the web (that I can't seem to copy to here) I am thinking something screws into the piece that I have, to make kind of a male piece. In any case I was wondering and thanks for the input.
