Trans Canada Highway

Looking for input regarding road conditions on the trans Canada highway. I’m thinking of traveling from Winnipeg to Montreal this summer after the Entegra Coach Owners Association Rally in August. Have to head to FOXBORO, MA for the SUMMERFEST RALLY in September.

Any experienced TCE travelers who can share your experience?

The Trans-Canada over the top of Lake Superior is a beautiful drive. Roads are good all the way. I have done the run many times, love it every time.

Have not been on it for several years, but it is the main highway across Canada. It is generally in good condition. The highways here in Ontario are in very good condition. I have traveled across Canada several times each way. The roads are never a problem.

I have driven from Montreal to Thunder Bay by Motorcycle, car and coach. Roads are well maintained, and scenic. And not too busy! My only caution is lodging and /or campsites. There are some sparse sections so plan ahead.

We have lived in Ontario our whole life and have travelled these roads many times by RV over the years. No worries whatsoever with respect to roads. No shortage of campsites or Walmart’s if you need a quick stopover. There are some variations to simply following the trans Canada highway that I could suggest depending on your interests. Only caution is some of the provincial parks, although beautiful might not be big rig friendly so check ahead. Don’t miss the opportunity to drive through Algonquin Park and perhaps see a moose. You are in for a scenic, relaxing, and very enjoyable trip. Welcome to Canada!
