I considered swapping it for the new Trav'ler that came on our Cornerstone but the dealer techs didn't recommend it, plus I didn't want to pay the labor charge. My RF Mogul dealer charges $300 for install on an RV and if my Trav'ler acts up at all it's gone. Interesting they wouldn't do a straight swap dish for dish.
What floor plan was your Anthem? Was the TV cabinet in the slide?

Sorry for the delayed response. Our 2015 Anthem was an RBQ and no, the TV was not in a slide.

Just be glad you still don't have one of the old Travel-Sat systems with the six foot grid dish and videocipher descrambler! Anyone remember those?

Yea, I remember. My next door neighbor still has one way out back but it now has a 25 ft. tree growing in front of it.

The prices I've been getting are approximately;

RF Mogul - $1950.00 + add installation

Winegard Travlr - $1700.00 + add installation

Besides the greater reliability, responsive customer support, user upgradeable software, more robust construction, the perk I see with the RF Mogul is down the road if you get pissed off at DirectTV or Dish you can change vendors by simply changing the LNBs.

I think Winegard is asleep at the wheel letting their crappy customer support and lack of software upgrades erode their lead in the business like IBM did giving up on PC computers.

Anyone traveling in Oregon should check with Advanced Satellite Systems in Junction City for pricing on RF Mogul. This time last year I paid $2100 for the RF Mogul installation. He came to the coach, removed the Traveler, installed the RF Mogul, ran new cables, system set up.....was there four hours.

Thanks, Dave. Haven't been on top to figure it out yet, but I either have another bent feed arm ($350+ and number two) or a turret that is shifting in the wind (at about 10mph or higher) and whichever it is seems to be getting worse over the last 6 months.

AsI haven't hit anything or bumped it, whichever it is seems to be occurring in response to wind conditions; this seems to be something that the Traveler is susceptible to. Is the RFMogol antenna less susceptible to wind (based upon construction) and do they warrantee it? Thx.

I can verify that the RF Mogul turret does not turn in the wind. Once it finds the sats, it locks in place. My Traveler was doing what you describe....every little wind gust would cause pixilation and signal loss due to excessive slop in the turret mechanism. The tech who installed my RF Mogul said the two motors and gear set up in the RF were beefier than the Traveler. He even cautioned me that I would hear more motor noise when the unit was searching due to the larger motors.

I believe RF Mogul warranty is same as Winegard.....2 years.
