Trav'ler / Hopper 3 again...

Some time ago, I setup my Trav'ler with the original DPP LNB, and a DPH42 switch and power inserter (located in the basement of my 44b)
Here's the thread that helped get it done.
http://www.irv2.com/forums/f278/trav...42-390492.html
Everything worked great.

Not long ago, I replaced the turret on my Trav'ler due to an Elevation motor failure.

Since then, it has indicated *119 *110 *129 on the trav'ler display, but only 119 and 129 on the Hopper diagnostic.
This has been consistent in a number of locations, it's not a line of site issue.

I've read some things about a Trav'ler redesign/update in 2018 having to do with hopper3 compatibility. My original system (and my control box still) is from 2016, but no idea on the new turret.

It's finally stopped raining, so I'll go up top and buzz the cables, but wondering if anyone has run into anything weird with the updated trav'ler?

I've read it no longer needs the DHP42 switch, but never that it cannot work with it.

In 2018 there was a change. That included the control box. With that change (whatever it was) all you need do is change the LNB to this.

Then you need a hybrid solo hub

That's all it takes. You can tell if your controller was made after or in 2018 by looking at the number on the tag on the bottom of the controller. But you already said yours was from 2016, so that won't work.

My Hopper 3 works like a charm with it. Happiness is being able to record multiple channels at the same time

I should have searched the forum first.

I found this thread, started by me a year ago when I first got the Aspire and setup the Trav'ler/hopper3. This "missing sat110" thing seems not uncommon, and several of the posts on the second page discussed it.

Those referred to this blogpoast.

I unplugged both my DHP42 and Hopper3, waited a few minutes, plugged them back in, waited for the Hopper3 to complete startup, ran a "Test Installation", and it found all 3 sats and all is happy.

Thanks!!

Glad you fixed it.

I had a similar problem, a check switch would only find 110 & 119, no 129. Turned out the LNB failed. I am using the DPH LNB, no DPH42.
