On our old 2 stroke Detroit diesel the fuel tank would be actually hot at the end of the day from the fuel circulation. I don’t think our Cummins Circulates fuel to that degree.
In extreme cold weather if you got that Detroit started in the morning you didn’t have to worry about the fuel gelling.

I’m pretty sure the ISX doesn’t return any fuel to the tank.😠😠It appears to use all it can get!😀😀

You may need to install larger fuel lines to keep up with consumption.[emoji3]

The water that condenses can run down the sides of the tank and form a layer of water in the bottom of the tank, below the fuel. Biologics (sometimes referred to algae -not correct because algae requires light to grow) can grow in the boundary between the fuel and water.

When you next drive your coach after that layer of gunk (scientific, technical term) can get stirred up with the fuel and end up clogging your primary fuel filter. That's NOT a good thing.

Probably good idea to add some biocide to a full full tank when you put it into storage.

Take care,

Stu

P.S. My DW complains that I "over explain" things. What do you think?

First time I have really understood the why behind the process. Thanks for "over explaining" it! Keep up the good work...but maybe only to those of us who are not married to you 🤣🤣🤣

I've used SEAFOAM for years in my big truck engines and fuel tanks. CUMMINS recommends it for their engines now and sells it at their shops. It works great, have used it for years in all my diesel engines and have had no problems with water in the fuel or gelled fuel. Love it!!!

Here’s a link below from Cummins for recommending approved diesel fuel treatment.
