For all the CA travelers, there. Is a city campground in downtown Napa Valley at the fairgrounds. 2 block walk to main street. We spent 28 days there 2 summers ago and it was $1250. The rates have gone up since then. So change your sear to fuel for the body (vineyards).

29 posts and only one which lists a truck stop to avoid which was the original intent of the thread.

Great going folks.

Another post was started because this one went sideways a few days ago. Even the OP said it was closed made it fair game for other conversations taking off. New post that was started. FYI in this thread post # 15 & 19. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f278/truc...es-473799.html

There is no prohibition on fuel distilled elsewhere. What there is is a rule that fuel must meet California's specific detailed regulations regarding ingredients, ostensibly to reduce pollution. As a result, when there is a shortage, fuel from outside the state cannot be imported because it doesn't meet the required recipe. And of course, there are often shortages - no new refineries in basically forever, and no chance that one would ever be approved. The number of cars in CA has increased by > 50% since the last refinery was built. Every time one comes down for maintenance, it is another excuse to jack prices up.

I'm trying to work out why a motor home towing a car has a hard time at a fuel station that is used by Class 8 trucks, some towing doubles. My MH is gas and I use the pumps at the front of the store. Never found one yet that I couldn't get out of.
