TV swivel mount

Question: has anyone put a swivel mount on the outside 2014 Anthem tv. I was told that there isn't room with the thick tv they install. I have suffered all winter with a tv that I cannot see when sitting down. I even had the awnings tipped down over a foot to try and shade it more and still no luck. Looking for solutions. Thanks for any help.

Put a bug in the ears of the sales staff or customer service, like I did, and hope someone gets the hint. Entegra could just as well leave the outside TV out. I can't use mine during the day, and get a stiff neck trying to watch it at night. Good luck with a fix.

Beth and I were just talking about this as I ordered the one that Ed Williams recommended in an email from displaystogo.com. His email said #BKLDA 03226. This model doesn't work.

Then you (Swenster) posted a number you got from Ed (#BRCKTSF161). Pat Bauer subsequently posted that he bought this one and installed it. So I am assuming it works in the Aspire.

Only the high end are putting them down in a storage bay. We rigged a tie down to bring the cover down to a slant about 15 degrees below perpendicular. This helps. Those that have made the mod...$60...have said it makes a big difference on reflection.

Ed has a 2012 Anthem with a 32 inch tv. His box is deeper than the ones in the new units. I watched the guy put Ed's in and he took out the horizontal brackets and that gave him room. I have a thought that if I buy a better model that is much thinner there may be space. Has anyone done this?

Do you have a picture of your invention in action?

Mine's not an invention. I'm jut using a dog leash attached to the inside and looped around the cover latch and the corner of the cover to hold the cover below parallel to the ground. Not very innovative.

I see in the mod thread that Pat Bauer removed the crossbars and attached the bracket to the inside wall. As his is a 2013, and SaltyDog (Emerson) has done same, that appears to be the option available that works.

I did exactly as Dave said. Before the bracket, I figured out a way to hold the door in a lower position. I also used a much more sophisticated mod to pull the door down. Mine was a piece of discarded electrical cord - much neater than a dog leash.....

We have a 2013. I removed the crossbars and installed the bracket. I had no issue with the FM antenna - maybe a model difference or just a random difference in the install.

I DID break the HDMI cable. Bad move. It's a PITA to get a replacement back to the distribution box in the center of the coach. I made sure it was about 10' longer than the original one so there was slack behind the TV

Once upon a time I needed a shallow articulating mount for a tv and found this one.
Flat Panel Mounts: Thinstall Ultra-Low Profile Mounts - Chief AV Solutions
Kinda expensive but you might take some measurements to see if you have the space. I think the thinnest is about an 1 1/2"

Seems like the original was 15' per CS. It barely reached the TV so I wanted one that was 20', but only found one that was 25' (I imagine you know that you don't need the fancy big bucks ones - I bought a cheapy at Radio Shack I think)

It was posted awhile back that the brackets that Pat and Emerson used would not work on the new 2014's TV. I know I was ready to order one, when several that had ordered them said they no longer would fit. I guess I will look at my door today and see if a I can make a decorator door opening limiter...possible small brass chain on both sides? Another on the to-do list. The EMS is today.

I just looked at my door and it would be easy to make the door a sun shade. Taking some small decorator chain, connect it to the top strut mounting screws. Down at the bottom strut mount there is a screw holding the compartment frame in, the other end of the chain could be connected there, or install cup hooks near the lower strut mount to be able to adjust the chain and tilt of the "sunscreen" more or less. Easy fix, finding the small chain will probably be the hardest part....maybe Michael's?

Chuck, how would you keep the chain out of the way when closing the door?
