Gary, to be clear I'm not saying you can't install two per wheel, if you used the narrow bands, on the 9.5 in rims with 315 tires. I'm just saying I doubt it and it's not necessary to have two per wheel.

Same coach as yours. Ours has a single Tyron band on each of the front 315s. Hope neither of us has to find out how good they work!

I think he means genny or generator slide, not genie like Genie Garage Door Opener.
Threw me off for a second too.

We have 315's and NIRVC in Atlanta installed two per wheel, for around $1,300.

We changed out the Goodyear's for Michelin's while at Spartan training and it was the first time that I knew we had two bands per wheel.

Tech doing the work, cussed them, and said they were almost impossible to get both on, but he didn't see anyway that the tires would come off if we had a flat or blow out.

Service writer next day also said only one band should have been installed per wheel, but there was no harm with two. He was interested in who did the install.

Yes my spelling was off for genny! I meant the spring loaded bolt that holds the genny from deploying out the front of coach, which the NT tech did not return to locked position.

I will call Tyron Monday to see what the proper set up should be for 315s. NT invoiced me for two sets of 55mm bands, which Tyron does not even have listed as a product offering! Thanks for all the insights on this technology.

I got an email back from Chuck Thachter who is the North American distributor and he says that only one set of Tyron bands are needed on standard 315 wheels. Two sets on 365 wheels. He responded from the Tyron web page.

That’s what I know.

I wish I would put more brain power beforehand on these situations! In reality it's not the tire at all that matters -- it's the rim. A 295 or 315 can fit on a 9.5" rim. If the well on a particular rim can be covered by one band of a certain width it does not matter what tire is mounted. Different rim manufacturers will have different well shapes and widths. The NT service writer definitively said 315s take two bands without asking what rim size. This is the same guy who said a Safety T Plus could not be mounted on an IFS Spartan chassis. Which is wrong too although at the time I did not know.

I probably need the genny bay latch replaced to ensure my fix on the bent latch holds in a real sudden stop and break down one of the front tires to see if there really are two bands on the rim, which I sincerely doubt. But I won't take it to North Trail for the work!
