Upgrading slide out motor
We have a 2019 Entegra Aspire. We’ve had a lot of problems with our super slide. We’ve replaced the worn cog gears, rollers, motor, had it timed and adjusted, etc. when extending, this slide system has a ramp the rollers go down when the slide is fully extended, when retracting, the slide has to climb this steep ramp before leveling out to floor height. That’s where we’re having a problem right now. Even though it has a new motor, the slide really struggles to climb that steep ramp while retracting. We live in Northern Nevada, but we really don’t have any shops knowledgeable on Entegra slide systems. We found a great shop in Eugene Oregon. After they replaced the cog gears and rollers, they suggested upgrading the motor from a 9amp to a 25amp. Same RPM’s and torque, direct fit. They said nothing else would need to be changed. We were on the road and couldn’t wait for a new motor to come in, so we ordered the motor and had it sent to us. My question is, should we be concerned about a higher amperage motor without changing out the fuse and using thicker gauge wire? Or will it be okay? I’m hoping to hear from folks knowledgeable in this area. Thank you!

Wire gauge
I would check what's existing. If it's 10G you should be fine.

First what part number do you have installed? The correct number ends in 300, if it ends in 500 you have the wrong motor installed.
Entegra disconnected the #10 wires and ran #8 wires from the controller to our slide motor and it made a difference. I suspect your controller is located same place as mine. If so it’s located in the bay opposite the Aquahot unit behind the side Velcro panel.

The current replacement part should be K01431B300. The B suffix has a higher torque and replaces the A suffix motor.

Yes, you’re correct. That is the motor that’s currently there.

Superslide motor PN 523900
Purchased the alternative motor others have tried... this is the 4th motor since purchasing 18 months ago.....oddly after checking twice, wires are correct, but motor runs in reverse. Retract extends and Extend retracts... ugh....
Assume I just need to wire it backwards for it to work correctly. Wll do tomorrow.....too frustrated .....sitting back with 4 fingers of Woodford Reserve Double Oaked....

Can you share the information on the 25 amp motor they recommended replacing it with? Like manufacturer and model number?

Yep just reverse the wires on a DC motor and it’ll run the other way.

The motors have never been my issue, its the shaft bearings and cog wheel that fall apart, the motor has not been a great issue. Those bearings are a real issue for failure.

Same with me, the gearbox and not the motor has been the problem. Notice the broken gear tooth and oval bearing mount.
Later...
