US-93
DW is our map person. She found US-93 as a more direct route from SW Idaho to Vegas than I-15. Does anyone have experience with this road? Is I-15 worth the extra miles?
We will be headed back to Texas the day after Thanksgiving.

Vance...might ask that question over in the Forums/RV Camping Forum/Locations and Info area...I see a lot of folks getting info on roads in that area.

US 93 is a great ride. Very remote in many places, but almost all the road is in very good shape. Do it!

Did it two years ago, would do it again anytime. Wide, well maintained like most Nevada intrastate roads.

We're on that very road now, we take that route every year when we head south for the winter. We drove today from Pendleton Oregon to Jackpot Nevada where we are overnighting, Took the 93 out of Twin Falls ID. Tomorrow we will stop at the travel centre just before the 93/15 junction and be in Quartzsite on Saturday. It's a great road very smooth surface and very little traffic. Much less stressful than the I15

Your DW navigates like we do....anything to avoid the Interstates. 93 is a great highway and the type we would rather travel. Much less traffic and stress free. Another plus is fuel is cheaper than Interstate truck stop prices.

I feel like I'm piling on, but we use 93 most years going from AZ to ID and back. Highly recommend!

Good road. Take US 6 west out of Ely and then N 318 south to US 93 junction. It saves some miles (~40) and is a very good road.
From awhile back

Agree! I have driven the road several times from Jerome, ID to Havisu. Use the 318 cutoff just outside of Ely. It will save you a couple of hours, a lot of diesel, and it is actually a better road than going through Caliente. Have fun!!!!!!
