Vanity slide binding
Upon extending our vanity slide, the bottom of the slide moved out slightly but the top didn’t move. The slide motor started clicking. The amount of movement was enough that the dresser drawers were tilted enough to begin to slide open. Tried it twice, same result. Then I pushed the upper edge molding above the tv while we tried again and it operated normally. How does one adjust the alignment of a slide or are they adjustable at all other than by a repair facility? Or is it an alignment problem at all?

My vanity slide has jammed at the top and "popped" out while extending, making me a little nervous. It hasn't done it the last dozen or so cycles. Check the top of the slide while it's retracted to see if you have anything binding it up (piece of trim, loose screw, etc.). Interested to know if others are having/had the same issue.

Thanks for the reply. My PS slide once popped and it is discombobulating. The vanity didn’t but I’ll look for anything out of sorts. We’re in AZ until the end of the month and I’m prone to leave it alone until a few days before we leave. Anthem ‘14

My vanity slide will bind at the top on the way in if I'm on the jacks. Never happens when I'm aired up on the airbags.

DeeGee, that looks like the Entegra fix for the slides sticking to the wall on the Classics. I have got to get up to the MH to see what they did to mine after replacing the wallpaper, if anything. It no longer sticks.

I'd love to know. It looks bad, and I'm minimizing the number of times I use the slides because I'm sure it will shortly rip something apart.

It is an adjustment issue. I had mine corrected in Middlebury and it now works fine. Don't recall what it cost but PJ took one look and knew what it needed.

That's not the only thing they have done. They have also installed Fiberglas panels between back side of facia and wall to prevent sticking/tearing wall paper.

Check your slide topper. Had this issue and realized the topper was binding. It would ‘walk’ out when extending meaning the top of the slide had to play catch up to the bottom. Have someone watch the topper to see if the material stays tight when closing/opening.

One item that ,I think gets neglected is wiping down your slide out seals with a rubber conditioner such as 303 spray to prevent them from sticking to the slides. I also, use spray bottle wax to quickly wipe down sides to help reduce friction

You should NEVER operate your Entegra slides when on jacks. Entegra instructions are to operate slides “Jacks Up, Aired Up”, at ride height. Otherwise they can bind as described with possible serious damage.

I watched the slide extend yesterday and I believe the slide topper is binding. Thank you for the suggestion, I’ll be checking it out.

How do you fix a binding slide topper? Adjustment, Lubricant?
