Congrats on getting it figures out.

I never paid attention to your sentence about the red lights. I think my transfer switch has two red lights that are always on also.... My guess is that when they go out, something needs serviced (guess you were just thinking of it backwards ). Your serious problems would not be the first time that a wire, or insulation on a wire not being stripped back far enough, or a nut on a wire connector not being torqued tight enough and the wire slipped out, has caused a coach owner to spend 3 days of their life trying to find the problem.... sadly that happens to someone every day. Its part of the fun of motorhoming!! You're going to get very "handy" with tools and diagnosing if you spend much time in your bus... (these things are just not like my 13 Honda or my Ford F-160 Lariat..... neither of which have ever been in a repair facility for other than a new battery. .... JMHO

Glad you found the problem

Gary

Angry

It's me again, Margaret. The "no shore power" issue fix was only temporary. The RV does Not recognize shore power at Any campground or my house. I have spent 10 days from WI to Louisiana running gen. 24/7

Have finished 10 days of following Entegra CS instructions of unplug this, plug this, swap this, etc. and now they have determined it is a transfer switch malfunction and they are shipping me a new one.

Have no clue how or who is going to install it in my area or even my State but we'll keep you posted to see (after I get it installed) if that fixes the issue.

The whole power cord reel assembly will have to come out and be reinstalled. (That's been fun working around with my hands)

IIRC, you are under warranty ( no year posted for your coach) . Entegra has a list of approved service people, many mobile that will come to your location for warranty work. Call Entegra for an approved warranty center. Changing a Transfer switch is simple enough, I would even trust Dixie RV in LA.

Dixie probably can’t even find the transfer switch

I would call Hope Camper on the frontage road across from Pecanland Mall in Monroe and ask if they can do it. They are a Jayco dealer and did have

I would call Hopes Camper Land on the frontage road across from Pecanland mall and ask if they could do it. They are a Jayco dealer, and used to be an Entegra dealer also. Worth a try.

Entegra CS tells me it will be next week before transfer switch can be shipped so can't up date you until then.

Electrical Questionon another note I am not an electrician and this may be dumb, But I'm plugged into shore power at the house in a covered shed. A/C fans running and blowing hot air, fridge working, etc. Vega Touch shows No Shore power as I previously mention. Generator nor RV engine have not been run in 4-5 days. Question, why are my batteries not going dead?

Whizzer, I just read through this thread and I suspect you may have a loose connection at the back of one of the disconnects, junctions, crimps, or battery connections.

This would explain why you’re having issues passing power, and possibly explain why the generator was quitting while driving, but not while stopped.

Entegra will absolutely send someone to you, just clear it with them first.

That person should check the security of all cables at each disconnect and junction.

If this was my coach, I’d trip the generator breaker, disconnect shore power and methodically work my way through the electrical system checking each mechanical or crimped connection.

-Matt

If it turns out to a Vega Touch issue, Firefly can access your Vega Touch through the internet and a laptop. They can analysis if the problem is in the VT. I am having an issue with mine that the screen will not show I am connected to the internet which I am as they were able to do the updates. They still don't know why my screen is not showing a connection. Yours may be along the same lines.

I've had 2 conference calls with Firefly and Entegra with no improvement. Firefly is located in Middlebury, In., and I think the Bontrager family, former owners of Jayco, are involved with Firefly, but I may be mistaken.

Just an observation but it doesn't matter. Just fix the dang thing!!

What is Vega Touch saying? I also had a screen and communication error. Firefly had to take remote control of my Vega Touch to get it working, but still not 100%.

I notice this is a brand new 20, was it like this at delivery? IIRC it was noticed on the way home? Hopefully the transfer switch will solve the problem, but 1/2 of the shore power still working is a strange one. A transfer switch is usually all or nothing.

Like Matt, It looks like a communication or connection error. Curious if it was like that at delivery and just not noticed.

it was plugged into shore power at delivery and obviously I didn't notice the issue then. I had A/C at delivery but all of that stopped on the way home, 800 miles from Orlando.
Fire Fly said their stuff was working fine.
How can I 'update' Vega Touch, is that possible?

After reading through both threads I agree that there are loose connections somewhere....and it is intermittent...road jiggles will make them show. A loose crimp on one tiny com wire probably, but could be as simple as a loose battery cable too. Big problem is finding it. Sorry you have to deal with this, but I am sure you will track it down.
