Verizon Mifi Deal
I lost my ATT unlimited wifi deal due to a phone change my son made. So I am pricing new service. I spoke with Verizon today who have a $20.00 and a $30.00 plan. After you use the allotment it will slow your speed, but there is no charge for the additional usage. You must have Verizon service. It is called mix and match. I intend to further research it. Is anyone using these plans?

Well, this might be equivalent
I have the unlimited MIFI device and service. In fact it is 15 Gigs.... and is not unlimited. And they say you can continue to use your device but it slows the service.
Here is what I can tell you.... When Verizon slows my MIFI after I use 15 gigs, my speed drops to like 600K and is absolutely useless for anything that you want to do. . It is a complete waste of my time to use it for anything, even plain old email access.
Find out what they mean about slowing your speed before you get even remotely interested. I'll bet it the same thing as mine.

You might want to take a look at the Visible plan in the following thread:
https://www.irv2.com/forums/f53/40-m...ed-442091.html
It's a long one so I would suggest at a minimum reading the first post and then go to post #10 where the OP posted complete setup instructions.

Your not saying what you want to do or need - do you need phone or data?
If you want to research what is available - this is a good place to start.
https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/
Then if you have question - likely someone here can provide an answer or how it work for them.

The truth is you can’t call Verizon or visit any of their stores to get legitimate answers on the type of cell broadband data an River needs. They are setup to provide answers for the 80% of users that typically don’t use more than a few gigs of data per month. They may act like they understand an RVer’s need but they have no clue about what you are asking for.
You can find the information you need at websites like https://www.rvmobileinternet.com/ they don’t sell anything and review, test and advise on plans and equipment for RV internet. There is a lot of info there for free, but to really benefit you need to purchase a membership. It is totally worth the cost.
Another website that can be a help, but is one that sells products is www.mobilemusthave.com. They are RVers that are IT and network pros that cater to the RV world.
Once you learn what data plan will work for you then you can signup for that specific plan online at Verizon or ATT or T-Mobile without having to deal with a carrier’s store and ar phone personnel.
Here’s a recent video from the RV Mobile Internet folks I mentioned first above.

This statement is not always true - depending on what you want sometimes you need to go into the store to get it. You need to know the plan you want before you go into the store, then normally you will not have to issues. The staff will not know all the plans available but will be able to look it up.
Example - the current T-Mobile 100 gb for $50 post-paid is only available in store - online you can only get the pre-paid plan.

I'm one of the guys that go inn on the mobley deal. I bought a new hot spot router a few years back and have up to 10 devices running all the time. Never had an issue and never been kicked off. Sometimes I notice a slow down when too many devices are running but that's rare.
For those that missed it, there are more options available. The one I'm looking at is the Verizon 5G home. Designed to be used as your only Inet service. I gotta look a bit closer at that. If you are a Verizon customer it's $50/mo, otherwise $70/mo. The other option is the AT&T tablet service which costs exactly the same as the Mobley service. You should be able to activate it on a AT&T Velocity hot spot ( which is what I use). YMMV.

Verizon 5G home is not RV friendly - it is specific to the address you use when you set it up.

With the AT&T tablet program they just send you a SIM card that can be placed in something like a Netgear Nighthawk. Unlimited, never throttled, according to another thread on iRV2. $20 month. My understanding is that you need to supply the IMEI number from a tablet that is cellular capable. I would think it would need to be different from one already on the AT&T network. I have the Mobley plan so no personal experience with this but the thread with the info is the one Chuck linked on my fun story with my SIM - it’s in the thread discussing speeds with a Mobley - just a few postings before mine.

2nd the suggestion for Verizon Visible for ordinary data and streaming at the best price and flexibility, second only to the Mobley plan which is no longer available. It's $25 all in vs $23.48 for the Mobley. Data is always network managed but is never throttled so is usable unlimited.
Visible requires a phone instead of a "Jetpack" but you can tether it to a router and serve as many devices as you care to throw at it. I have about 25 devices (and growing) on my network. I bought a moto e6 which is a fairly fast cat 7 phone for under $100. I am using a GL.iNet AR750 router which is a fantastic little router for the money($75) IMO. If your needs are more basic the $20 GL.iNet 'Mango' router is also a great deal.
The whole kit can run off 12v with a USB adapter.
My usage is well above moderate (well over 100 gigs per month) and I am relatively happy with Visible. I also have a Mobley plan and in more locations than not Visible out performs it.
I can easily switch between the Mobley and Visible by swapping the router tether, no need to reprogram the network devices. The GL.inet routers can also route via campground wifi. I'm looking at a bonding solution that will let me use Visible and Mobley at the same time.

Looks like the Party Pay Plan is now available on Visible's website as well. https://www.visible.com/plan/party-pay
