Viair compressors

When on the road I use CO2 to top off our tires at 110 psi on our 5th wheeler. At home I have a large compressor 175 psi, 80 gallons that I use to inflate tires and many other uses. It works great, fast and very quiet. I do use a Viair 750 for our MH.

Our 1997 Ford CF8000 ExpeditionVehicle has air-brakes.

The compressor on the Cummin[G!]s 8.3 is rated at 14.2cfm.
The relief on the dryer sneezes at 130psi.

2003, during our build, I tapped a tank with a traditional air-chuck on a traditional shut-on valve.
A hose reaches four corners.

I check my tires as part on my pre-go check-list.
I remember one of them needed a boost a couple-three years ago.

In other words, not an issue.

I replaced all valve stems with Borg solid valve stems. All of the ends are easily accessible.

As I understand it and this is reinforced here, the Viair fills tires very slowly, it gets very hot, and has a short power cord. I don't like any of these features so I purchased a hot dog compressor. Since it holds air in its tank my tires fill faster and the compressor doesn't need to run except when adding air to the tank. Before purchasing I made sure I could store it easily and accessibly in one of my storage bins. I have a trash can behind it to store my air hoses (one for the compressor and the other for my coach air tank fitting, which I rarely use) and all of my extension cords.

I've tried some of the other and the viair is the best because it's small and powerful

My Viair is a different model but it is capable of pumping 10 additional pounds into a 315 Michelin that needs to go from 105 to 115 pounds for example so I would not be too worried. Most of us have found the Viair to be a dependable and reliable product.

Why don’t you get the 400P at least? Much more robust and powerful ! They also have the same compressor in a package with a carrying bag, lots more hose, and several inflation accessories made for RV’s

Works great to add air to my giant 315/80 R22.5 tires.

Because the 400P takes up more room than a Viair 88P, costs $200 vs. $80, and I don’t need a bunch of fancy attachments when I want to simply add 5 to 10 psi to 80 psi tires?

Well, then you have made the decision that makes sense to you. I think some were suggesting that you may save some bucks but not end up with the same quality, but then I dont have the 88P so maybe its quality and longevity are similar to the more expensive units.

you are not going to find many owners with your unit that hang out on here.... most are dealing with much bigger tires requiring much more inflation.

I have the Viair 450P, no issues with my 2012 Aspire Tires.

I put 90 PSI in the rears and 115 PSI in the front. Front = 295 75 R22. Also, came in handy when our toad had a blowout, and needed to put a bit more air in the Jeep Spare. My wife was so glad we had it.

I use a Dewalt 20volt Max. DDC020IB.

It has a 160psi max and also screws into tire valve. Home Depot $99

I have the same and although it is handy and highly portable. It is SLOW.
