It depends. Some manuals state that you can walk on the slide roof. Apparently there are some owners who routinely do and builders have been seen walking on the slide-outs.
However, it seems to me that the majority of owners wouldn't do it - even if the manual says it's fine.
I'm in the camp of owners who would not do it unless I had no other option, and I can't think of any situation where there wouldn't be other options.
Replacing a topper should be possible without walking on the slide.

You can replace the topper from each side, so why would you need to walk on the top of the slide ?
You weigh 200#, and your 3 feet out, so now you weigh 600# to the slide.
You think the slide likes that ?
Walking on the roof of the coach has been planed for, but not the slide.

Replacing the slide topper is a two-man job and in no way requires standing on the slideout

I helped my brother in law replace his slide toppers and we used two ladders for 98% of the job. I did go on the main roof for a minute or two and while laying down on it, reached over the slide side checking the material sliding through the rail. For a topper replacement, I can't imagine a reason requiring either of us to get on top of the actual slide... and I wouldn't volunteer to get on someone else's slide.
Put me in the camp that won't do it unless it's the absolute last choice with no other option.

I agree a two man job , but 25 ft plus slide and reach 3ft can also be difficult as well with two men. might be able to reach down from the roof to plus the topper across

One man on the roof of the RV reaching down, the other one on a ladder. It’s actually pretty easy that way.
I can see were adding a third person (also on a ladder) on the end to help feed it would make it a faster job on a long slideout

Since you have an Entegra, Entegra builds their slide to handle the weight. Other brands I don't know about. Sure is a bunch of experts out there

The point is there’s no reason to walk on top of the slide.
Entegra says it’s ok to walk on TOP of the slide?

The op clearly stated that he was looking for OPINIONS and in return I'm sure he learned something he was unaware of. So, why do you find the need to throw insults?
