Warning curve ahead

We have a 2014 Aspire with the original head unit/Magellan nav.
We don’t use the nav for directions only an overview.
We also stream radio through the Bluetooth while driving.
Our Garmin will ping any road warnings but the Magellan SCREAMS AT US.
Is there a way to separate the Magellan warnings from the radio/Bluetooth levels?
A comfortable listening level means insanely loud warnings.
Does keep me alert though….

Quite often the same volume control works to control different features on this newer technology electronics.
Our Jeep radio volume will be fine, but an exceeding speed limit really shouts. I've gotta read the owners manual to learn how to reduce audio speed limit warnings.

go into your xcite radio settings menu/audio...there is a setting to control the volume level differential between nav and other functions.

My Jeep 430N is similar. When it is giving directions, I can turn down the nav volume but only while it is doing so. Figured the coach nav might be similar, I will keep looking. Looking at the screen while driving the coach is not a good combination.
Thanks.

I'm watching this post as well in hope to find an answer to my question. We have the opposite issue as you can hardly hear the NAV system talking as the volume is way to low. I am going out to look later today to see if I can find the settings in the radio like posted above.

Jeff, while the nav is screaming at me, I can see a small grayish square with the volume symbol in the lower left corner of the screen. Again only when it is screaming at me. I tried to push on it thinking it would give me a scale to slide but nothing. DW can’t see it at all from her seat.
It would be nice to find a manual for this but I am not sure of our make, model or even who created this. EC, Riverpark, Magellan?

Riverpark in my case. I sent an e-mail and never got a response back.

In my '15 it's, Rivermark as well...when the "lady" is giving instructions there is a small icon of a speaker which pops up on the screen. I tap that icon to mute the voice. This only works while she is actively speaking as the icon doesn't exist when she is not. It's a bit of a comedy as I drive while stretching over and finger stabbing at the icon to get it before she's finished with instructions.....

I was afraid of that…..I might just go ahead and replace the unit. It would be nice to have Car Play and other features we don’t have now.
I rely mostly on my Truckers Atlas, Garmin 770, and Waze. I do like the overhead view the nav provides though.
Someone recommended Kenwood with the Garmin built in. The next owner of the coach would be thankful…

Ok, I'll try again....
If you have the Xcite "infotainment" system in-dash, running the Rand-McNally mapping/nav software, there is a function you can navigate to from the home page titled "setup" (lower right corner of menu tabs in the home screen for the menu). Go into this menu and look for the "audio" tab. Once you are in this sub-menu navigate to page two. You should see a couple of options, titled "nav volume", and "nav audio mix". These settings control the nav volume level and the ratio of volume between the nav voice and the other options via the "nav audio mix".

Experiment with these settings until you find your happy place of volume on the nav and announcements, especially with the "mix" function. This should make a huge improvement in the operation once you get it dialed in...

There is no easy way of doing this going down the road, you just have to fiddle back and forth between road miles and stationary adjustment of the settings.....

Ernie:

Dont worry about it.... its amazing the number of people that dont bother reading more than the last two or three posts on any thread. It takes a special type of person to actually want to learn how to resolve some problem and starts with the first post and the statement of the problem and then reads every (or most) of the posts and usually has the knowledge that they need by the tenth post but reads all of them and learns the good, the bad, and the absolutely silly, but by the end, has been educated. Many dont take the time for an education.... just keep asking the same question and hearing the same answer over and over and over.

Ernie, Thanks for clarifying what you were saying.
I will review the menu settings again.
As well organized my box of manuals is by the previous owner, I do not have a manual on this unit so coming here to find out the nuances from others who may know is of benefit, not only to myself, but to other owners as it turns out.

Not sure who Gary's comment was meant for but I don't think it was necessary to bash people in this thread.

I went thru the directions that were listed in the first place, no go. Then I went and tried it again, after they were posted the second time, just to make sure I tried it every possible way. I have the volume set at plus 10 and tried all 3 different settings of the MIX. I still can barely hear it when the voice comes on. This is just sitting without the engine or generator running so you know it's quiet. I've to believe there has to be a setting someplace to increase it. I know I can hear the backup alarm thru the system with no issues once it is put into reverse.
