I have this foam cannon as well. What you do is add 2 to 5 ounces of soap to the bottle attached to the gun then fill it the rest of the way up with water (the more soap to water ratio the thicker the foam). For me we have to add soap to the gun 2 times to do a complete wash on the 45 footer, but I will admit that it is fun foaming up the side of the rv, and we have been known to get carried away with it. If you were conservative and your wife doesn't foam you and everything in sight when she gets her hands on it , then you will probably go thru about 6 ounces per wash on average. So a gallon would wash the coach many times.

I read a review on Amazon wher the reviewer stated that the foamer added another step to the washing process. If that is true then where is the benefit?

I suppose it does. You wet the coach/vehicle down, then use hot water in the foam cannon along with the soap and spray down the coach with the foaming soap. Let it sit for a few minutes and do its thing. Then wash off with water. If the coach is really dirty beforehand, you will then need to wash it with mitt, etc like. Irmal. The foam cannon gets the dirt and grease and road scum off so when u use a mitt etc, there isn't any loose particles on the vehicle that would scratch it and or cause swirl marks. Things come out cleaner looking and brighter when using the foam cannon imo.

Sometimes when it's not as dirty with the road scum and grime, all u need to do is the foam cannon and rinse

Post it when you do. So far Costco has had the best price, but that could change. I am think of getting one to connect to my pressure washer, just for the time factor.

If you need to use a wash mitt on top of using this foam cannon then what is the benefit .. so basically this cannon is a device to apply soap and if the coach is actually dirty then you still need to use a wash mitt. just don't think there is a way to skip the old fashion scrub process if you truly want a clean coach jmo

From what I've seen so far it does make washing the coach a lot easier. The foam loosens the dirt and most of it is easily blasted off the coach with a strong stream of water.
I had areas of the coach that I didn't scrub and they looked great. The aluminum wheels cleaned up good too. I let them soak with the foam and I wiped them out but didn't scrub them and they looked better than other times when I did scrub them.
