I had the change mad to my water piping and what a difference. Now all water goes through the house filter first. I will add a filter to the incoming line, a 5 micron, for small particles and such as they are much cheaper than the house filter.

I put the sediment filter (white) as the first one, before the softener. Then after the softener I have a carbon block filter. You could use a number of different combinations, but the sediment filters are cheap, so they should be your first line of defense. They will be the first to catch contaminants and will need to be replaced more often. The carbon block are usually 5 times or more the cost of the sediment filters, so by putting them as the final filter they last longer. If you want some good information on filters, this is a good place- RV Water Filter Store: Standard Filter Canisters for Whole RV
