Water leak from overhead air return vents

Anyone experience water coming in from a/c return vents during heavy rain? A/C is running.

if it is leaking ONLY when it rains, it sounds like maybe the gasket sealing the unit to the roof may be bad or lag bolts holding unit down are loose.....however, I have had the front unit repeatedly puke water out of the R/A vents if it has frozen up and then thaws out...happens pretty regularly on Entegra's. I have had 3 and they all did it at one tinme or another.

Does it leak when it's not raining?

I had a leak like yours after I had my ac replaced. You can take your camera in your phone and take pictures of the ac seal to look for defects.

We had the problem after having an A/C replaced. Ended up being the A/C gasket. Seems these gaskets are foam material mitered at the corners and glued. If the glue gives way you got a leak. They sell the gaskets as a separate part and it can be replaced so it's easily fixable you just need to get to a service center that can get the gasket and do the work.

You can try taking the inside cover off and slightly tighten the four bolts on the corners (the ones with springs around them...

had one the backed off a bit and would leak, tightened it down and all good for 3 years now..

you can see two of them on the far right in this pic... good luck - hope it's that simple !

Thanks all. Talked with our tech and have ordered gaskets. Will check the lag bolts as well. I’ll report after the next heavy rain with the ACs running.
Cheers

Freezing up like that suggests a airflow issue. Perhaps there is a restriction or filters need cleaning.

The only time I had water come thru my rear bedroom vent was when I accidentally hooked up shore water to my black tank flush connection and had all the valves closed. Water filled the black tank until it came shooting out the roof vent and into the coach via the ducting. Is it possible that heavy rain is coming into the coach thru the roof vent because it isnt sealed properly?

Here is what the roof cut-outs look like. One opening is the return vent, the other is the AC delivery vent. There is a seal that goes all the way around the AC, and one that goes between the 2 openings. Inspect or replace both. (I did clean the roof too)

I have had all three of our Entegra's experience freeze-ups due to mild temperatures with high humidity ambient conditions, where the fan will go into low-speed mode and sit there running until the coil freezes up due to low air flow/high humidty. I just turn it off, let it thaw out overnight, and then it is usually fine the next day....

Just one of many quirks of the a/c systems in these coaches.

Folks, checked all 3 A/C units for gaskets and mounting screws. #1 was fine- #2 gasket was leaking and one bolts tightened- #3 gasket bad as well.

Thanks to all for the help. BTW, the tech appreciated the pics!

Cheers

I had your problem. Problem was the freeze sensor wire was out of place and allowed the unit to freeze up on humid days. After being back in place, no issues for two years.
