Water Pump

When hooked up to city water, I have a leak coming from inside the hose reel area. As a temporary "fix" and to avoid constant ward on the floor in the wet bay, we fill the fresh water tank and run the water pump. Problem is the pump cycles on briefly ever 2-5 minutes! No visible water anywhere. Any suggestions?

...many/most water pumps have a built-in check valve to hold pressure when not running...if that fails/leaks, often the solution is to install a second check valve near the pump to keep pump from leaking back into fresh tank....there is also a check valve near the hose reel or city water inlet to keep pump pressure from leaking into city water when city water pressure is low....or replace the pump$$$$$$$$

Make sure you have a pressure reducer at the water source, i,e, 55-60psi. Normal city water pressure is too high and your hose reel will leak.

I do have/use a pressure regulator set at 50ish! I have tried a couple different regulators and it still leaks?

The earlier hose reels leaked due to bad clamps where the hose connected to the reel, easy fix if that is the same problem with the newer models. The check vavle from Home Depot that was just posted a couple of days ago will probably fix the pump cycling. http://www.irv2.com/forums/f278/2017...ml#post3982723
Scroll down a couple of more post and Paul included a picture of where it goes.

Pull the hose off of the reel, find where the leak is...one trip to Home Depot or Lowe's should get the parts to fix both.

Try turning off the ice maker. That seemed to cure our pump cycling problem.
