water pump filter basket orientation
Hi everyone,
Does anyone know if the orientation of the sureflo water pump filter basket is relevant? Logic tells me the bowl should face down.
TIA

Bruce, I agree with your logic and have always mounted strainers with the bowl down. Or the other hand, a quick search didn't turn up any cautions regarding the orientation of a strainer.
Below is a photo of the Aquajet water pump I installed on our coach, which shows the strainer with its "bowl-down" orientation.

Glad you in particular answered. I was actually going to IM you regarding your pump upgrade. When I began looking inside the water bay for mounting options I noticed the bowl facing up, thus my initial question.
Ok to DM you and pick your brain?

It was up on our '06 Dynasty. Really shouldn't matter too much. It's a screen, not a trap, so it should be fine, either way. Often the "plumbing" is flush to the floor so up is the only option without inserting a couple of pairs of offsets. That would create a couple of low points that could slightly complicate winterizing with air. I wouldn't be too concerned if it were either way, from the manufacturer.
