We sold out

This weekend Ginny and I will celebrate the last camping trip in the Entegra. This sure has been a great coach and we sure have made some great friendships with fellow owners along the way. I consider Entegra to be a great product and the staff working there to be great people. I can only hope and pray that the next family of RVers and staff are as kind and helpful.

We came from the 5th wheel group but have enjoyed the quality of the Entegra so we’ll be venturing back down the 5th wheel path and I believe we’ll end up with a New Horizon 5th wheel. In our opinion, New Horizons looks to be a good quality unit. If we don’t like it we’ll come back to Entegra and lick our wounds.

I believe life is a journey and it’s time to turn the page in the atlas and see where the next exit ramp takes us. It’s been great getting to know all of you and I appreciate all the kind words and encouragement as we’ve helped each other over the past 7 years with repairs and travels.

Happy trails my friends

Dave

Sorry to see you go, but all of us have to make that decision when it makes sense and furthers our goals.

However, I hope you will come back and expand a bit more on your decision not to stop camping, but to change "campers". What were your thoughts and considerations, and how does that path meet your new goals? Just interested.

Gary

But of luck in the New Horizon! We have some friends that have one and like it very much.
Thanks for all your input on the forum.
Safe travels.

Gary,

Ginny has decided that she doesn’t want to be gone from the kids as far. So as a compromise, we’ll get a large 5er and stay in one place longer. I don’t like having a motor home sit for too long without being used, and the large 5er will feel more like a cabin. The 5er also won’t have as much maintenance (at least my last one didn’t ).
In my previous life I drove for a living so toting a trailer around isn’t a big deal. Driving a dually around as a daily driver isn’t a big deal either. We might be back, nothing in life is certain other than death and taxes.

Thanks Tom! I hope we like it, time will tell. I’m going to the dealership this week to start ordering a new truck

Dave

I appreciate the expansion on logic..... there are hundreds of good reasons to make a change of life and lifestyle, so I am always just interested in the values that underlie decisions.

Thanks and again, good luck!

I am honored. I still owe you one for your help with the new batteries. I will be waiting for you to cash in on that one.

Dave, best of luck to you and your new fiver. New Horizons makes a great product and I’m sure you will be happy with it. We are in a similar place with our Anthem. Nearly 7 years and 84K on her and we have really enjoyed the ride. We plan to sell it after our winter trip next year. We also came from the 5th wheel world with a 36’ HitchHiker Champagne and F450. For the long cross country trips the Anthem can’t be beat but like you we plan on staying a little closer to home than 3,000 miles. Our problem is we don’t know what we want to replace it with. We do know smaller and less maintenance are important. Hope to See ya down the run in your new Fiver.

Best of luck out there, but please stop by from time to time. Your knowledge of the classics is invaluable.
