Weird Black water tank level
Coach been sitting for 4 months now with black tank reading zero
just today noticed Black tank at 40% both on the Vega Touch and the Wet bay meter
and have not used any toilet at all.
so i got out my blue boy to drain it and a tiny bit of water came out which really
was about a gallon mixed with the Toilet chemicals I used when i drained it.
after drain it at all a gallon or less now both meters read zero
any suggestions why i get a from Zero to 40% with out using or moving the coach.
now draining less than a gallon reading zero again.
PS Fresh water still at 50% the way it was when i got back from last trip
tomorrow im going to back flush it just in case that may be the cause.

Ron, there have been a lot of post on tank sensor readings lately. Might want to to a search. Does the 18 Vega Touch update via wifi? There have been some updates on the newer models regarding that. Also tank sensor problems, but mostly on newer units.

Thanks Chuck
I have no idea if the vega touch is connected to wifi
i'll do the search as suggested. Drained the little bit out of the tank and this AM still at Zero. Going to back flush heavily today and if it repeats,
Congrats on the new rig

Thank you for the kind words on the 21. I believe the 19 was the first year for wifi updates? But don't hold me to it, the model year changes are starting to run together for me. You are already on my next suggestion, complete backflush until the water is completely clear. That is where a clear fitting is a must. Surprised my 21 came with a clear elbow, probably from the dealer. Good luck with that, hope it will be simple.

You are correct Chuck on the year. My '18 does not have wiFi. We did need an upgrade I discovered through this forum but it had to do with auto-gen issues. In our case Firefly sends a memory stick with instructions on how to download.

Question or Suggestions
When you back flush the Black Tank do you partially fill it and then drain it or just open the drain and let it flow till it comes out clear. not sure how the water is sprayed around inside the tank. I do both some just water on drain open then after a while close the drain fill partially then drain while water is still on

This video is a perfect explanation on the procedure for a perfectly clean tank. I don't even use tank chemicals anymore except in extreme hot weather between dumps. On my Entegras with the pressure regulator set to 55 psi it takes about 14 minutes to back fill the tank. I use the timer on my phone and start watching after 10 minute. If a backflush has never been done on the tank, I like to let the. tank soak with Pinesol. Back fill the tank, except for the last few gallons, pour in a bottle of Pinesol, finish filling to mix it. Let it sit over night if you can, then drain and backflush. You will not believe how much crud has remained on the side walls in the tank. To get a clean flush the first time takes about 3 flushes, maybe 4.

Very Informative that's the way i do it, But I thought maybe there was sprayer nozzles inside the tank and that filling it would prevent them from working i usually do that procedure 3 or 4 times always with water flowing, just never used pinesol but do use a gallon of water and toilet chemicals every time i drain it. Ive never had and issue with any black tank on any coach I've had. But like above all of a sudden my gauge show 40% with no waste in the tank . Did a through flush today and all is normal , Thanks for the input.
