I'm going to give the electrical tape a try. In just went and checked the rear wheels and lost a nut cover on each side. 2200 miles and a monsoon in South Dakota must have finally caused them to fall off

I'll check the truck stops on the way home and purchase replacements.

Silicone seems to be a very good alternative to electrical tape. Especially when considering possible higher temps. The adhesive on electrical tape can get real messy when it breaks down.
