What were your "must have" items when shopping for a coach?

Good evening friends,

Just curious as to what your "must have" items were when shopping for your new motorhomes...? Some of you have no doubt crafted your lists over time and have owned many coaches over the years?

Thanks in advance for your opinions...

Safe travels,

Joey

Slides on the drivers side only. We didn't want to bump into them at night!

Diesel, side radiator, fiberglass roof, and AGS Automatic Generator Start are the necessities, but also very nice are remote keyless entry including compartments, and AquaHot.

Yep, got it all, incl , DynoMax semi-monocoque chassis.
Didn't get all electric though as the cooktop is propane.

Same as Hawgguy...but...

This was my second coach; after the first, I wanted another two years of warrantee that Entegra offered along with high quality customer service. At some point in time, I felt you need to know enough to do a lot of the little service things to avoid big costs once the warrantee is gone.

*Aqua Hot
*Comfortable high back furniture
*Floor plan we both liked and could see ourselves living in
*Bath and a half
*L shaped lounge
*TV across from lounge - none above windshield, no pop up from behind couch
*Washer dryer stackable

roadtrip,

You ask the question on the other thread on the Newmar forum "what led me to the choice that I made"...too much us versus them there, so I'll answer you question here.

Started looking at first coach being a Tiffin, because that is what "everyone" was buying. Found out in these forums, that isn't so. Went to Hershey Show with a short list of Tiffin, Newmar, and Entegra after a lot of study on these forums.

On the Tiffin lot, had two doors come off in my hands (after witnessing water leaking across the floor at a dealership before I went). That was it for Tiffin.

On the Newmar lot, no one seemed interested in selling, and while the Dutch Star and Mountain Air I looked at had a few interior features I liked, saw a bay door coming off. I had serious concerns that a company would show a coach that was obviously broke instead of getting a tech out there to fix it.

Went to the Entegra lot, found a clean coach with everything that was an option and extra as standard features, a two year warrantee (important as I had never owned a coach), and prices that seemed on both the Aspire and Anthem about $50k less than the DS and MA. Sold.

Now that said, I think I'd be happy in a Newmar, but I still think you het more for your dollar with Entegra, JMHO.

Last, if you can afford and like the 600 HP rigs, they offer quite a bit more as well. If you salivate for the 600 HP rigs, sooner or later, you probably upgrade. Save yourself the depreciation and go that way from the start. Again, JMHO.
