Wheel Chocks Needed for CS?
We are retiring our 2009 Excel 5th wheel as we are picking up our 2017 CS this week
New to Class A so my question is: Is there may need for these type chocks for the CS? Or should we leave them in the Excel?
They are no longer made, but worked great on the 5th wheel.

Congratulations on your CS. We always used wheel chocks when we had a Fifth Wheel. We have never used them for the Coach. Don't think you need em.

Congratulations, and welcome to the Entegra family.
You will find that the coach is going to be much more stabile than the trailer. You should carry chocks to use when the rear leveling jacks take weight off the drive wheels to keep he coach from rolling. The parking brake is only on the drive wheels, so if they get lifted too much the coach could roll.
Enjoy!!!

You will not need them for your new coach and jacks are stabilizers for while parked and not intended to lift the wheels off the ground. I reposition on the site or place short planks under my tires on the low side if needed but that rarely happens.

I 'carry any and have never seen anyone using them on your Entegra tag. As others have said, the only reason for them is if you life your drive wheels off the ground, which you should probably never do. I have my front tires life off the ground on an RV site that was graded ever so slightly down in the front, and I intentionally drop my rear jacks more than the leveler wants to drop them (while keeping the front jacks so they dont lift at all) in my driveway which slopes down to the back of the coach... (so I raise the back of the coach up to level it while in the drive way. I would guess that you will never feel the need for them if you have them in the basement, but I doubt you will ever feel that they are needed.

That's the only time (rarely) I've ever used mine, when in a site where the rear had to be raised to get level.

On the list of useless things to carry, wheel chocks would be at the top!
Sell them to the people that are buying the fifth wheel.
And welcome aboard!

I have a question, since I am a little dense sometimes. If the jacks have raised the drive wheels off of the ground, isn't the weight on the jacks going to keep you from rolling?

Officially, who knows what could happen and many will tell you about the evils of lifting your motorhome off the ground, but after you read all the caution stickers, and a little common sense is applied, unofficially of course, I agree with you!!

Yes it does.... but for safety I always chock at least one of the front tires when I lift one set, (or both sets), of rear duallys off of the ground.

Funny, the reason I have a pair of wheel chocks is in case one of my children hit the brake release by accident to prevent the bus from rolling. I usually only use them in our sloped driveway. If we're at a level site, up on jacks, not too much of an issue.
On an earlier post someone recommended a bag clip for the brake release to prevent it from being pressed in and the brakes released. I had my son create a better design and 3D print it. Works great and use it all of the time. I'l try to post a picture in the future. Anyone with a makerbot 3D printer or access to one could reproduce in about 30 minutes.

I have never used my wheel chocks. I have them just in case. I bought them to have for when I took my Class B license exam.

FWI, PJ, Entegra CS, briefed in the training meeting here, that when you take the front wheel off the ground, it puts all the front end weight on the shocks and suspension...not good for long term. Keep the wheels on the ground, or pads supporting the weight.
