Yes, we have prognostics. With the transmission at operating temperature, stopped with the park brake set push the + and- buttons at the same time and cycle through the various menus, it will tell you everything you want to know about your transmission.

In that case, it appears we don't need to change filters or fluid until we are told to do so!

Actually the correct answer is "when indicated by controller or 60 months, whichever comes first. Replace filters with fluid."

This applies to Allison Transmission with TES 295 fluid and high capacity filters.
