I have to say out of everywhere we have traveled Newfoundland is the best. The people are amazing and so helpful and since we are from the USA we get that nice 37% discount when using our credit card
We start by take na the ferry from Sydney Nova Scotia to Port aux Basque Newfoundland. It is about a 7 hour trip and it is a large ship so you simply drive your rv and connected vehicle right on the ship. Your animals can stay inside the RV just fine. To book the ferry contact:

Round trip for us was around $830 US but they will quote you in Canadian dollars and your credit card will convert the transaction. Make sure the credit card you use does not charge a foreign transaction charge.
The TCH is a nice highway. Easy to travel and easy to get fuel. Campground’s are nice and 75% of them have 50 amps. When staying in Saint John’s on the east side of Newfoundland stay at pippy park RV Park. Easy to find and just 2 miles from everything
After you arrive on Newfoundland make sure to go to lancing meadows which is on the west side of the island all the way to the top. You take the TCH north to Highway 430. Just before the turnoff is a fuel stop. Highway 430 is pretty good till you get 80% to the top and you see a sign that says “Potholes”. You will need to travel about 45 mph for the next 30 miles or so then the road gets smooth again. A nice campsite to stay at is the Viking RV Park. Small and only 30 amps but plenty as you won’t be running your ac units there make sure you take the ice berg boat done by a place called dark tickle. Amazing
Visit Saint Anthony as well which is a 20 minute drive by car.
When you are ready to leave Lansing meadows drive back south on the 430 and take TCH east towards St. John’s. We stop at Sanger RV park in Grand Falls- Windsor. Nice park 50 amps and pull thru
I hope this helps anyone who wants to come to Newfoundland
