Where is everyone getting their Fridge filters (Whirlpool WRF550CDHZ) ?
I can't believe how expensive they are

How often are you replacing the filter?
Might try these guys, or Amazon:

Not sure what that has to do with it, but we try to stay close to the recommended time between replacement at 6 months.

Ken
It is a legitimate question for another issue. My experience is that there is NO reason to change filters every six months unless you are interested in giving the filter manufacturer more money. If we did everything that a self-serving manufacturer suggested in a non-critical part, corporations would be even more profitable than they are now.....
Now, to the issue you raise, I buy mine off of the web and I think that the last time I bought them I bought them from Amazon. I bought the exact same filter as is in the coach initially and the price didnt seem bad. I usually price compare at least 3 or 4 major suppliers and take the cheapest for the OEM part that I want and with the least shipping upcharge.
And, for no real reason at all, I replaced my coach's filter at 15 months... but it was not because of any decay in our water supply or taste in the coach, and we are moving all the time when using the coach.

I removed mine and put the shipping plug in. I have a filter on my water softener, the whole house filter in the MH and the smaller filter for sink water facet, the ice maker and refrigerator water. I didn't see the need for another filter at $35. that doesn't do anymore than what is already installed. The change filter light still came on every six months, even without a filter, just hit OK and repeat every six months.

BTW, the small inline filter is a refrigerator filter. I replace mine with Home Depot brand filters changing the ends with the factory filter. Last time at Home Depot, I didn't see them, hope they didn't stop carrying them. They were $11.00 vs $35. for the RV filters, just different ends that takes a few seconds to change.

How offend. Years ago I read an article about carbon water filters and they were indicating every 6 months for well water or water without chorine. It seems bacteria likes to live on organic charcoal and they recommended changing every 6 months. Our house is on well water and most CG's we go to are.
I change the 2 carbon (water hose and kitchen cold water) filter the first time out every year about every 9 months.
Yep filters not cheap, and whirlpool keeps changing the design on new fridges to keep an active patens.

I have been using these for the frig - I just change it when the light comes on / The DW is very picky about the water taste, so am I changing it more that needed. I also have a external standalone 4 filter whole home system for anything coming into the RV.
