Whirlpool Washer Door Lock Issue

The washing machine door lock appears to be a random problem. Washer won't start unless I SLAM door, but is now getting to a point where sometimes that won't help.

Ran diagnostics and code F13 came up. Slammed door and dianostics worked. Has anyone had this issue? Appears to be getting worst and not sure if replacing door lock assembly will fix it.

Hate to shot gun parts, but could use some help. Has anyone manually tested switch assembly prior to replacement? Have you replaced and seen a difference? Changing assembly looks very simple and I really don't want to pull washer for controller....

Common issue, pretty sure it is a micro switch in the door which is an easy job. We now leave the washer door open slightly while not in use (even while driving) which helps

I would say get ahold of CS at Entegra as our washer was doing the same until they had the washing machine tech check it out and it was a simple shimming issue with the door latch. I didn't see them do the actual work but from what was on the PDI write up that was the fix.

Common problem. Lots of YouTube videos on how to replace.
It took whirlpool 5 months to get the switch while under warranty. They finally just replaced the whole washer.

I had the same issue and replaced the door switch which did nothing. When in Middlebury they replaced the washer and it has worked well since.

Same issue, 3 service calls, 3 different techs, works better fry awhile then multiple door slams to do a wash. In Oct. we're at Entegra for our 2 year so it's on the list !

We had the same door lock error code multiple times. Entegra replaced washer two years ago with no issues since.

We have the same slam door washer. I tighten all screws on door and latch. Try that,it works till next time.
