Who uses the fireplace heater

I don't see many people say they use their fireplace heater just wondering how much heat they are rated too put out.

I use it every night in cold weather. Heats up the coach nicely. Never use the burner for heat unless there is a power conflict..

It has been on for the last 7 evenings.
1500 watts. Just enough to take the chill off.

Ours has two settings, 750 and 1500 watts. We use it all the time in cold weather.

I keep the coach at 68 degrees at night as we sleep in colder conditions, which is chilly in PJs when you get up so I turn on the Fireplace every morning so that the coach was warmer when Dee rolls out in her PJs.

Interesting perspective. My 18 Anthem developed an AH issue on our way to Cota in 2019. We had no heat from the diesel side. Long story, but suffice to say when we upgraded to the CS we got a floor plan with a fireplace which we saw as a back-up. Now that I have read peoples responses, I may try running my FP in the LR and Ah heat only in the BR.

When traveling in cold temps, we use it every morning to take the chill of and in the evening while watching TV.

Hi - We have used it in several motor homes that were equipped with a fireplace. The Anthem 44B on order was picked partly because it has a fireplace. In most coaches the remote has worked from the bedroom so turn on the fireplace from bed, flip on the TV and catch the morning news while the front of the coach warms up. Doesn't get much better than that.

Besides keeping things and a constant level versus the propane or heat pumps cycling the additional light in the living room makes moving about the RV after dark easier. The light can be adjusted on ours.

As hard as I try the wife will not let me modify it by removing the nice fireplace log area and just leave the top heater part.

That precious space would be fantastic for a high def computer/tv monitor. There are some incredible "fireplace" screensavers that could be activated when not in use.

We have a center TV and this would place a PC right below it.

Even living in Central Florida our fp runs a lot in the Winter.

I didn't really want one when we got our trailer thought it was waste of space. However I have come to like it and we do use it. It works quite well in our trailer just as others have said. Not that you couldn't do the same thing with a small space heater but the grandkids like the look of it too.

We only have one furnace and the fireplace (plus some electric space heaters). The furnace does a lousy job heating the front, and of course uses up propane. We use the fireplace a lot. Wouldn't want to be without one.
