I can see the price. I wouldn't order it, but I do understand the pricing. If you look at most of those kind of options (freezers, etc) from any coach manufacturer they are all quite high. But those are MSRP prices and no one pays MSRP. Take roughly 30% off to get your actual cost on a new coach, and yes, that's still expensive. But the dealer has a mark-up and also Entegra because no one does anything for free. Plus the system has to be integrated into the coach. Not just installed, but integrated. That means engineering has to spend time figuring it out, testing it, drawing up tech docs, educating sales staff, and then actually installing it so that it's a good installation. Then they add in a bit more for potential warranty issues.

So I can relate to why the MSRP is as high as it is. But you will always do better and save money installing your own aftermarket system and you may even get system that works better for your needs than the OEM system. But for those who just want to have it hassle free, covered under warranty, and become part of the coach financing it's still a viable option.

I depend on having a usable WI Fi connection, as I run my business while I travel.

When service is poor or unusable, I use a Hotspot device I got at Verizon. AT&T has them too. It costs only $10/mo for the device and it works great as long as you can get into a cell tower.

It also offers more security than using the public WI FI.

The "device" you are talking about is a Verizon "MIFI" or "Jetpack" and it does work well. The $10/month cost of the MIFI is irrelevant because were the real money "IS" is in the amount of broadband that the MIFI requires..... that is where you pay. Now I pay for 18 Gigs of Verizon broadband, but now that I have the Mobley, I fully intend to reduce my broadband amount.... it can always be raised, and the cost savings are significant.

Mark..... you make a good point that few pay the actual 100% cost of the option, but my secondary point is that being more successful getting into the RV park WIFI or even some commercial establishment that you happen to be parked close to is not worth that kind of investment. My experience is that park WIFI is so worthless, and is so consistently worthless that I just dont bother with them any more..... life is too short to keep beating our head against the wall.

Gary, et.al.

We have the Verizon Ellipsis. Our Verizon bill is ~ 94.00 dollars a month ( with military discount ) for one IPhone, the Ellipsis and 10 Gig of 4G data on the Ellipsis and another 10 Gig on the IPhone as a hotspot. After the 10 Gig it rolls back the speed to 3G.

Now the interesting thing is that Verizon just sent me an email (said I was a great customer ;-) ) to tell me that they upgraded my Ellipsis data to 15 Gig / month. I didn't need to do anything else and that it happened automatically.

The interesting thing that I find with the Verizon package is that it is still dependent on cell tower usage and around 6PM it seems so slow and hard to establish a connection that we don't bother to try to use it. This isn't all the time, but often enough that we find it a real PIA. I am now thinking about getting an external antenna for the Ellipsis and just putting it outside the coach when we park to see if that helps. Anyone have any experience with this?

Jim, I have the AT&T Mobley. I built a shelf in the P/S above the windshield cabinet. I have the Mobley plugged in there and sitting at the highest point of that cabinet. As a test sitting at my storage location....the Mobley sitting on the back of the couch, one bar. Moved it to the upper cabinet, three bars. I have a large suction cup that I can hang the Mobley in the windshield, but so far have not needed to use it in 2 months on the road.

My MIFI is as good or better than either of my iPhones (7 and 6) at signal reception. I have not noticed any speed reduction on the MIFI and there better not start being a speed reduction because I am paying for "High Speed" service to 18 gigs. Now on my plan, they say you never go over your limit, but I have noted the one month that we intentionally went over our 18 gig limit that there was a significant speed reduction after we exceeded the 18 gigs.... enough of a speed reduction that I would start to describe it with the adjective "worthless". So, if I see that I am going to exceed my allocation (also they carry over unused gigs from previous months (like when we are home) I simply go on line and increase my paid allocation to keep speed where it should be.

Now, I too am testing a Mobley and I am very impressed with what it does.

I do not even bother to look for a wifi network. We both work remote and are using ~50 gig per month. AT&T unlimited plan, their unite explore mifi card and a netgear mimo antenna attached to a inside window. Here on Hilton Head Island , The speed test resulted in 10.2 MDs downloag & 6 MBs upload. I have been able to stream Direct TV Now every where we have been. I do have a weboost amp and antenna but never use it

Chuck, I know that there is no reason for this, but I find my hotspot has better reception if my shades are up. I think I would try the Mobley if I could ever find one available to buy.

Dicor is only holding the saw blade down, the antenna is magnetic.

The Mobley ay $20/month sounds like a good move. Except I can't seem to find one either.

Is AT&T out of them again? From what I have seen posted they go out as soon as they come in, but most have had them within 2 weeks from the online order desk.

I use the Unite Explore and connect it to a netgear mimo antenna. It works extremely well for me. We full time and work remote
