Windshield wiper just fell off!
Just West of Shreveport on I20 dark, 35 degrees and raining cats and dogs. I big truck passed me so I turned wipers from low to high. Drivers side wiper FELL off! Pissed me off as I just had the wiper recall done. Somehow the rubber tube held the arm while it beat the crap out of the coach. I has to drive five miles to an exit, pulled the tube off and brought the arm inside the coach. Wedge bolt was never tightened! I got it back on and we just pulled into Diamond Jacks in Shreveport for the night. This could have been bad. Will see tomorrow how much damage to the coach. Warning. Pull the plastic inspection plug and check the socket head cap screw. I WILL check the DW side in the AM.

That really sucks!!! I almost hate to have someone else work on my coach for just that reason. I sure hope there is no paint damage. Let us know what you see in the morning. Who did the recall work?

Crestview in Georgetown, TX. I ask Joyce if I could install myself but she said no. See how well that worked out? Everything they did is screwed up. Two screws twisted off in the window they replaced and it still leaks. Also the installed a new door gasket and now we have a knocking noise we did not have before and the wind noise is worse than it was when we brought it to them. I like to do all my own work. Most RV techs are guys that could not cut it in airplanes or autos

Don't go there! Find a reputable dealer in the area and have Joyce approve service. I was told at MHSRV by the tech that the wipers' falling off problem had been eliminated with the new design at least in the Anthem.

Got up this morning and 40 miles out the arm fell off again. I was livid! I called Joyce and ask her to send me the instructions for installing the arm. She did what Joyce does and had them to me in a few seconds. The dumb a$$ at Crestview installed both arms wrong. There is a bolt that goes into the shaft. This bolt should be put through a piece of sheet metal and torqued to 12 ft lbs. Both of these were installed without going through the sheet metal part and they were finger tight. Wonder what he thought this bolt was going to hold since he did not torque it or put it through the hole. Just a bolt finger tight with nothing under it. Joyce is sending me a new arm since even though they stayed on the drivers side splines are just about gone. It looks like I do have some damage to the clear cover on the front of the coach.

I hate to hear of that frustration from an incompetent service center. I hope you let Joyce know about their quality of work.

Good going, dude. I was told with the new arms and the bolt through the shaft you should be home free. Is that why they call them grease monkeys? Don't feel too bad about the diamond shield scars, when I first got my ex-Allegro Bus I was cleaning the windshield and got off the ladder to grab a clean rag and the wind came up and pushed the ladder against the coach and got a few scars, I was major pissed! Used some touch up paint to cover it up. The only scratches that coach ever had.

We are in Meridian, MS. now visiting the kids. Arm can't fall off if bolt is installed correctly. Hope this is the end of this drama.
Son in law starts flying jets on 12-2-13.

That is something to be "Thankful" for on both accounts.
