Has anyone had the issue of the satellite searching, then it gives up and stows itself? We had this happen where it stowed itself two times and then on the third attempt the next day it connected. We had talked to Winegard and they said that the coax cable might need to be replaced. We had it on our list of things to fix when we were at our service provider but we ran out of time to get that looked at. So here we sit, fingers crossed that it will finally connect. Two days ago it connected in an hour. Today it has stowed once so we are on attempt two.

First thing to try is replacing the coax, they can be purchased at Walmart. You don't say how old your unit is, but it may be end of life.

2021 Rig

Thanks for your reply. Glad that you agree with the coax needing to be replaced. Our rig was purchased new in 2/2021 so I hope the dish is not end of life.

Winegard had mentioned that the coax used is not very sturdy.

Will just need to find someone to do this for us. I am not letting hubby up on the roof.

Thanks
Lee

A 21, it will probably be the coax. Pick up a 6ft at Walmart and have it on hand. If you see an RV tech in the park, see if he can install it real quick, it only takes a minute.

Thanks so much. I am hearing a consistent recommendation and the fact that it appears an easy fix is great news. THX

It could very well be your receiver. If you do have a Mobil guy stop by, have them test your system with another unit.

Thanks - now for my stupid question. Is the receiver you mention the Winegard black box where one pushes the Power button to get the satellite dish in action? Thanks. That could be a good thing to add to the list if the COAX replacement does not work. THX Lee Anne
