Winegard Razar E1 error

Have not been able to resolve a Winegard Raza over the air antennae error E1. Has anyone seen this and come up with a satisfactory resolution? It just came up on last trip and doesn't allow the TV's to find local channels.

Hi Ed,

Error E1 indicates a short in the coax cable between the antenna and the LED wall plate. You'll want to check all of your cables and connections then perform the RESET function on the control panel. Yes, I've had it come and go--it seems like it fixes itself. Possibly the error code for the "short" is caused by rain. Seems like it now works 95% of the time.

When it first happened Winegard wanted me to run a separate coax cable from the roof down to the control box for troubleshooting. On the day I was planning to do it, it was working again.

Moral of the story: be patient with it and maybe it'll just be a rare error code for you.

Had the E1 error. Instead of running a cable, just removed both ends of the cable and checked it with an Ohm meter. No short. Inside unit would not reset. Called tech support and they said based on what I had already done, inside unit was bad. They did say it was sensitive to low voltage so make sure you have 12+ volts to the inside panel. Was able to order a replacement through them and so far so good.
