Winegard router

To hookup a cable modem to the winegard router in our 2021 Anthem, do I just unplug the ethernet cable already there and connect modem to that port?

The Winegard IDU should have a LAN and WAN (POE) port. I've not done this, am merely speculating, but if I were trying this out I would plug my cable modem into the WAN port.

I'd be hesitant to replace the IDU without some research because it appears some of the devices have fixed IP addresses.

I really need to spend some time learning this network better.

Or how do I hookup a cable modem to the winegard router already installed in the 2021 Entegra Anthems

My untested theory would be cable modem connected via ethernet cable to the WAN port on the Winegard router (IDU) in the basement.

I would agree with the thought. Your cable modem would serve as the WAN out port here.

Problem with above comments, Entegra already has an ethernet cable using that port, and have advised not to mess with it, as it may compromise the coaches network.

I'm going to look at mine next week to verify but anything Entegra has hooked up to it will be on the LAN side and not the WAN side.
