winterizing
Hi everyone,
For years I have been using only air to blow my lines out. It's never failed me, but I know I have been playing with fire. This year I decided to be extra cautious and use anti freeze. However, I have forgotten. DO I turn the inlet valve to fresh water fill? I'm familiar with the bypass valve to suck AF in, but forget the other.
TIA!

No, you really don't want antifreeze to enter your fresh water tank. You should assure, however, that your fresh water tank is empty.
Remember, that by hooking up the tube from the antifreeze container to the inlet side of your water pump, you are already downstream of, and therefore cutting the fresh water tank out of the system, and distributing antifreeze directly from the pump to all faucets and toilets in your RV. Be sure, also, to empty the hot water tank and put it into bypass so that no antifreeze goes into that tank as well.

The entire reason for winterizing (in this case) is to introduce AF into my Aqua Hot system. I don't have a water tank. The AH needs to be winterized or the coils can freeze and burst. That's a $10k fix. But you're right about the valve position. My confusion mixing up an air procedure with an AF procedure. When I blow the lines out I would open each faucet, hot, then cold multiple times until there was only are exiting. I just assumed that I needed to use the same procedure with AF. I realize now simply pressurizing the lines with AF is the ticket. I still blew them out but not to the degree that I would if I were not using AF. Also I winterized the macerator as that is vulnerable too. When I open the bypass valve a bunch more water came out.
Thanks for the help
