Winterizing Residential Fridge

Hi all...just bought a new 2014 Aspire 42DLQ. Any tips on winterizing the unit, especially the fridge?

Hopefully there is a step by step winterizing section in the owners manual where you can use it as a check list and nothing is missed. Also the washer takes some special care to winterize.

Also welcome to the forum, it a great place to learn the new MH and congratulations!

Instructions

Since we will be using our coach on trips throughout the NY winter months, I called Entegra CS for help. I started the call by asking how to I turn on my tank heaters.... I was told I don't have tank heaters; instead, Entegra uses basement heating. So I was instructed to:

1. Turn on my Auqahot to electric
2. Turn on thermostat (in the bathroom) to heat
3. Set zone 2 (in-floor) heat to "gas"
4. Set temp to desired temp (for me in upstate NY about, 40 degrees)
5. Turn on basement heat (located in the basement)
6. Set basement heat to desired temp (for me in NY, about 65 degrees)
7. Set Zone 1 and 3 heat to "gas"
8. Set zone 1 and 3 to desired temp (for me in NY, 50 degrees)

The Aquahot will run just fine on 20 amps as CS told me. (not 15 amps, I tried and kept tripping the house breaker)

For added NY winter security, belt and suspenders I call it, I also use antifreeze.

1. Open fresh water tank valve to drain fresh water tank
2. Open fresh water valves to drain lines to faucet
3. Open all faucets and drinking water knobs (there will be air in the line holding water in the washer)
## Use an air compressor no higher than 30psi to blow excess water from the system
5. Pull house filter, drinking water filter and water filter from fridge (put plug in fridge)
5. Close valves and faucets
6. Put winterization hose into gallon jug of antifreeze (have 4 gallons available)
7. Turn on pump and suck in antifreeze until the pump stops and system is full (keep tube in antifreeze)
8. Turn on washer (about 45-60 seconds), then his cancel to drain
9. Pour 4 cups of antifreeze into the washer
10. Pour antifreeze down all ptraps (sinks, shower, toilets)
With pump in, open all faucets and toilets to verify antifreeze comes out
12. I also pull out my fresh water hose and drain water as well, even though the basement heat and in-floor heat is on.

I should add a step in there to close the valve to the waterline that goes to the fridge as so antifreeze doesn't get into the line.

Also, don't forget to dump your ice tray.
