How cold the coach will get is important, too. Ours has been thru some nights that the temp was -15 to -20 with the antifreeze in it with no problems. A warmer winter would be more forgiving if only air was used.
  • If done correctly, blowing out the water lines will and does work. An added benefit is it doesn't matter how cold the outside air temperatures get.
  • If done correctly, using RV Antifreeze will and does work.
  • If done correctly, blowing out the lines and then use rv antifreeze will and does work.
  • If done correctly, moving the RV south below the freeze line will and does work.
  • If done correctly, storing the RV in a heated building will and does work...unless there is a loss of electricity during that ice storm.

Pouring RV antifreeze in the fresh water tank can be promatic. There is a good possibility that water can be left behind when draining the tank, and that leftover water will dilute the RV antifreeze making it less ....... well less antifreeze.

I just added T's between the AH and the hot water bypass - then ran a length of piping to the edge of the AH top with shutoff values at the end. I can blow out with air, then just pump in antifreeze until it comes out the other side then blow out the antifreeze. You just trying to get all the water out.
