X15 Oil Change Intervals

Trying to get my files in order and downloaded the Cummins manuals.

Ouch - on page 3/-9 it a says 20,000 miles OR 6 months

The Spartan Manual (V 22.0) says 15,000 or 6 months but to use the Engine mfr's recommendation.

Am I missing something as I often do?

Thanks

PS I can send a copy of the exact wording if anyone wants it.

No, you're not missing anything, the ISX has different change intervals. If you're worried about the time then pull a sample and go by it.
My ISX hasn't needed an oil change since May 2015, only about 4,000 miles in that time but the samples come back saying to run another 5,000 miles and check again.

Our Cummins Rep told us on our Over the Road trucks to go 50,000 miles for oil change on the new X 15 engine, but then again oil is cheap, and we do oil samples every time we dump our oil.

Just talked to Cummins. He was much more focused on the 20,000 miles. Specifically he said most RVers don't put anywhere near enough miles on the coach to justify a 6 month change.

He agreed also that the oil test is a valid way to decide on an oil change.

Once a year is good of me - for milage (10K) and age.

It is easier for me to just do the fuel filters, oil & filters all together once a year. Every other year I do the coolant, air dryer, air and hydraulic filters.

Chassis lube twice a year.
Stairs cleaned and lubed monthly.
