Yet another goodbye

After 14 years of full timing, starting with a Travel Supreme and ending with an Entegra Aspire (and OK, a Monaco in between) we sold our coach and are now renting a home. There were several factors, the first being age (we're in the upper 70's) and the increased need for medical resources a close second. And we are now closer to our daughters, although our oldest one is going full time in a sailboat end of the year.

Most of our friends are current or ex RVers, we'll miss seeing them as much as we used to. And most assuredly we'll miss seeing sunrises and sunsets from beautiful places. We loved to hike, not much of that in the Dallas area. And we'll miss the many on line friends that have helped us on so many occasions.

We were also surprised that a 45ft motorhome, and a 10X10 storage place, can more than fill up a 2,000 sq. ft. home. Where did it all come from?

So we wish you the best of times in your RV travels. I'm sure we'd like to be with you, and we are in spirit. Good luck to you all.

John and Romola

Fair winds friends…it seems strange yet inevitable…the early Entegra owners from 13-15 are starting to age out. We’re at nine years and not near ready yet, but when we do we will treasure the memories as I’m sure you will.

John

Well congratulations on making an important decision. I will miss your posts and your wise advice. We all face the same decisions points and it is to the wise that make the decision at the right point in their lives.

Good luck at the new location and also on any of the medical issues you reference. Take care and good health to you.

Gary

We started about the same time with a great Travel Supreme and then had four Entegra’s. We have downsized to a New Aire as a concession to age(76) but really like it
. Took an over 6000 mile trip this summer just in case and now spending 6 months in south Texas. Plan on getting to Wisconsin next summer and much less travel before back here for the winter. Slowing down a little but still able to enjoy the lifestyle a little longer. Enjoy the new chapter and keep the safe advise coming here, not many of us old timers left here.

I wish you well on your new "adventure" .... we all will eventually have to hang up the keys for one reason or another. It's all good, just another chapter. Just because you are no longer full timing or rving doesn't mean you have to leave the forum. Your advice and insights are welcome here anytime!

John and Romola I wish you well with the next adventure, and thanks for all of of your helpful posts.

I guess it's inevitable everyone has to stop RVing at some time. My wife and I are on the other end, trying to wrap up work and hopefully have 15 years of rving before health issues get in the way.

John and Ramola:

What a bummer! Who is going to tell me how to get cable TV or plumb my black tank flush, or so many other issues? Going to miss you guys around the campground.

The good news is we come through the Dallas area often so we can still get together. We plan on continuing to travel for several more years, but who knows?

Best to you both!

Dear John and Romola
We wish you all the best for the future and enjoyed you new house.
We hanged up the keys on 12/01/2017 after 9 years fulltiming direct from the airplane in our new 09 Monaco Camelot 42 PDQ. Since them we live in our new custom build house in Green Valley, AZ. Thank you for your friendship.
