I posted this on the Sprinter forums!
I have copied it here because this applies to anyone buying a new or Used RV. Get it inspected by someone independently qualified to PDI before handover.
Big money and headaches are involved!
RV shouldn't mean Ruined Vacation

What a tale of woe!
Here is my explanation of what has occurred.
The root cause is the bodybuilder and rough handling when the chassis cab was delivered into their plant and build movements during assembly .
I have come across this with bus chassis and trucks delivered to body bodybuilders having worked for three major well known Euro truck and bus makers as an international territory zone rep/engineer!
In short the chassis was forked off a delivery truck with a strap wrapped around the prop shaft and dropped on the ground. Hence the mis- alignment and bent drive line experiences.
I have come across this when running an assembly plant in Iran. It took a lot of effort to change the practice, although I confess in neighboring Iraq the changes took place much quicker due to corporal punishment by caning of the caress handling perpetrators in the canteen!
Of course the dealer who sold you the RV as a turn key delivery was also to blame!
In short a total lack of a thorough DPI before hand over!
Normally in the bus world a dealer PDI will/should pick up these defects/damages before the vehicle delivered to destination.
I don't know if it too late but a few phone calls to the dealer that sold you the RV and the body builder might not go amiss since you must have spent a small fortune on tyres.
If you have any further concerns please call me on 720 344 1877 (business) and I will try to help some more even give the mechanic in Walton Beach some guidance if he needs it.
All the best
Dennis
