There is nothing worse for a repair shop to deal with than a customer complaint which is intermittent and can't be duplicated.
At this point in time there is little you can do. I would suggest you keep a close check of the fluid level in the master cylinder to be sure you don't have a small seepage somewhere in the brake hydraulic system. The system warning light is activated when there is an imbalance in the system which can be caused by many things. Most often it is caused by a fluid loss or air trapped somewhere in the system.
I am not familiar with the MB brake system but I have seen a VW SUV which had a similar problem with the warning light. Once in a while the light would flash on for no reason at all when the brakes were applied. All the basic checks were made including bleeding the hydraulic system. What was eventually found was a wire which was connected to an inner brake pad was damaged and a small wire strand would occasionally contact the brake rotor and trigger the light. This wire was connected to a small tab on the brake pad which was part of a warning system which would bring the light on when the brake pad thickness got thin enough for the tab to contact the rotor.
One other suggestion I would offer is for you to contact the manufacturer and report the issue you are experiencing to build a track record. If the light comes on again report it again. Yours might be an isolated case but perhaps not. Having the proper channels informed might help resolve your issue if someone else found a cause and cure and the manufacturer was made aware of it. Keep all the correspondence and document it.
Good luck,
Lynn
