Dash air warm on 08 Dodge Sprinter chassis
Dash air blows warm. I think compressor is constant on these, but has a "rest" button on dash. Naturally, tried adding some R-134, but didn't take. No gauges, just add kit. Read something about a controller for compressor, computer controlled. I will appreciate any help on getting this going, If I take to a shop, they would replace many things. It's a 09 Navion on a 08 Sprinter chassis. Bought new, 125K miles, 3L v-6 diesel. Thank you!

If it has a separate temperature control, for setting things cooler or warmer, try setting it to something that's comfortable, but not all the way to the lowest temperature setting. You may have the temperature control dial all the way to the coldest setting? The problem may be the guts inside the dash are freezing up, and then it shuts down to thaw, so you get warm air for a while.
On some of the newer models this has resolved the problem. As stated in the 2017 OM for example,"set the temperature to 72F, and then lower it in small increments until you get to a comfortable temperature" (sorry, last part I paraphrased).
Some others say there's a part that can be replaced, but I had a similar problem, and just turning up the temp adjustment to something reasonable solved it. As stated in the manual.

Sorry, was hoping it was just that simple.
Good luck with it.

You are either low on Freon or you have an electrical fault that is preventing the compressor clutch from engaging. You probably need to take it to a shop for diagnosis and repair. It doesn't have to be a Dodge or Mercedes dealership, just someone who specializes in foreign automobiles.

Also, on 2008-2500 diesel, when I push the "rest" button for A/C , compressor still runs. Any ideas? Still blows warm air. Thanks for any help.

Where is the a/c heater door actuator on 2008 Sprinter 3500? How do I get to it and how to check it? Might be why it blows warm air. Thank you

Was able to get freon into system, and worked fine, until it all leaked out after few minutes. Used hose kit with gauge . Did not use dye, but has to be severe leak. Where is the most likely culprit. Will have to install dye, to be sure, but helps where to look.
It is navion MH on a 2008 Dodge Sprinter chassis 3500 3.0 L diesel. 125K miles. Thank you for any help.
