DEF SYSTEM recall problems

I have heard that the recall fix causes lots of problems with inability to start engine etc. Any info, thanks. Have 2013 chassis/2014 Chateau Citation with single slide out.

I don't know if any of the affected vehicles have even been "repaired" yet, so I don't know how anyone would be able to claim they've caused problems.

I am scheduled for the repair on May 19th on my 2018 Thor Citation. Would like to hear any news on this before I have it done.

Is your 2018 unit on a 2016 chassis? The date range is 2009-2016 for 906 Sprinters w/942 engine.

We've had the emissions recall work done on our 2016 Sprinter. The recall news link Winterbagoal posted above says fuel mileage won't be affected and that DEF consumption won't change.

I feel like we may be seeing slightly lower fuel mileage, but it's too soon to be sure. Engine torque and acceleration seem at least a good, maybe a little better. If the van were to consume a bit more DEF that would be fine as a trade-off for cleaner air because DEF is cheap enough. Thus, our verdict at the moment is, "so far, so good."

I had my exhaust recall done a couple of days ago at a local Freightliner dealer. Huge facility near Burlington, Vermont. Went well, took a couple of hours for my 2015 MB Sprinter.

recall

We took our 2014 Sprinter in for repair. I am very pleased with how MB handled our problem. Took it in on Monday and done by Wednesday morning. Everything seems fine at this time.

Also I had paid for a wheel sensor that eventually was covered in an extended recall. They are in process to file it for me and are going to send me a check for this repair I paid for. BTW it was done at a different MB dealership.

Now, I am working the issue of a previous repair of my Nox sensors that failed. I am calling MB corporate to handle this. This was a $1500 repair they said should be refunded. We will see.

recall

Picked mine up yesterday. all work was completed by MB dealership. It's about a 40 minute drive from dealer to home and I didn't notice anything different. Will be heading on a 3500 mile trip on the 21st. Will report any noticeable changes here on this thread.
Only thing the service manager advised me was that I may see a bit more DEF consumption.
